One result of the quick economic growth in the 1990s was the emergence of industrial and business zones outside most Slovene cities. Thanks to the investors’ diligence a number of structures sprang up near Trzin, with two possibilities as far as architectural development is concerned: either worsening the condition or using innovation to improve it. Kalcer Velux business/warehouse structure represents the optimisation of location, function and form. From an urbanistic viewpoint, the transition to smaller scale and division of the building into two parts creates a connection between the fragmented residential structure of Trzin and the mass of warehouse buildings in prefab concrete elements in the industrial zone.
